What is J type thermocouple?

TYPE J THERMOCOUPLE. Type J thermocouple is a very common and general purpose thermocouple. It has smaller temperature range and a shorter lifespan at higher temperatures. It consist of positive leg made of an Iron wire and negative leg made of an Constantan ( Copper-Nic el ) alloy wire.

Type K Thermocouple (Nickel-Chromium / Nickel-Alumel): The type K is the most common type of thermocouple. It's inexpensive, accurate, reliable, and has a wide temperature range. Temperature Range: Thermocouple grade wire, –454 to 2,300F (–270 to 1260C)
